Education

On-line Tutorial in The Protection of Human Research Subjects.
All investigators and key personnel must complete our initial education program in the protection of human research participants. Key research personnel include research staff responsible for the design of the study and all those who come in contact with human participants and/or identifiable data. Each year thereafter, investigators and key personnel must complete 2 hours of IRB-approved continuing education in the protection of human research participants. If the principal investigator has not met this requirement within the past year the submission will be returned.
Co-investigators and key personnel who have not met this requirement may not participate in the research until the education requirement is up to date.
The IRB offers a web-based educational program,CITI, that will allow research personnel to meet this requirement.
